About Landee

Landee obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, with a minor in Psychology from Southern Oregon State College before making Missoula her home in 1992.  After she completed an internship with the Polson Youth Court, she volunteered with Missoula Youth Court and was hired as a case manager at the Missoula Pre-Release Center. Two years later Landee began her 21-year career with the State of Montana Department of Corrections in the Probation and Parole Division. Within the division she held several positions; Traditional Probation and Parole Officer, Intensive Supervision Officer, Supervisor and Reentry Probation and Parole Officer.

Early in her career, Landee recognized the value of knowing and using community resources and the need to strengthen partnerships. She was selected by the DOC to lead the Office of Offender Reentry team to streamline and improve the Department’s Reentry Efforts in conjunction with the Governor’s Reentry Initiative. Landee was instrumental in developing Missoula’s grassroots coalition, Partners for Reintegration whose focus is on education and advocacy to reduce barriers for those returning from incarceration.

Landee was recognized by the Missoula Exchange Club as Probation and Parole Officer of the Year in 2013 and in 2014, she was honored with the Montana Governor’s award for Excellence in Performance for her work on offender reintegration. She served on the steering committee for the Missoula Jail Diversion Master Plan and , in June 2016, the Missoula County Board of County Commissioners unanimously appointed her to fill the interim term as Missoula County Justice of the Peace.

Over the years, Landee's community involvement has included working with the Literacy Volunteers of America, as well as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Missoula on their Board of Directors and as Volunteer of the Year, Western Montana Addiction Services as their Board Chair.
